Now Hiring: Part-Time Bookkeepers
OVERVIEW
Blue Fox is looking for a bookkeeper who is experienced, kind, analytical, self-disciplined, extremely detail oriented, and tech savvy. The bookkeeper will work on a daily or weekly basis for up to 5 different client companies. To start, the tasks will mostly be accounting related with limited-to-no client customer service. But if interests and skills align there is opportunity for additional responsibility and client-facing tasks. The bookkeeper will collaborate with the business owner regularly (weekly if not more frequently in the beginning) for support and training.
TIME COMMITMENT
This is a part-time subcontractor position with an estimated time commitment of 5-15 hours/week. The subcontractor will set and communicate her own schedule each week and bill Blue Fox monthly. (Pay rate to be discussed.)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a virtual/remote position. The bookkeeper must have high speed internet access, her own computer, a device with a web camera, and a home office or other suitable workspace conducive to phone or video calls. The bookkeeper must be available intermittently throughout the week to respond to emails and occasional phone calls. Read more about Blue Fox services.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS
Please complete our online application below. No phone calls please. We will follow up with applicants who meet the minimum criteria with additional Q&A for you to complete. If selected to advance through the process, we will have a series of video and phone interviews, and you will be required to complete some basic skills tests.
You will also be asked to complete a national background check prior during the application process and supply at least three references. A W-9 will be issued upon offer and must be received prior to first payment.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
To start:
- Daily/weekly data entry of expense and income transactions into QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Weekly accounts payable/bill pay processing, via Bill.com
- Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Monthly financial report compilation, occasionally with some data manipulation in Excel
Long term for the right candidate:
- Payroll entry and processing
- Monthly journal entries
- Client interfacing and support
- Create and document processes for each client served; suggest improvements for efficiency and accuracy
KEY PERSONALITY TRAITS FOR SUCCESS
- Kindness and honesty are non-negotiable – this is a no-drama, highly ethical environment
- Humility and ability to ask for help or support is also a must
- Affinity for and/or comfort with numbers
- Commitment to maintain client confidentiality
- Sense of humor (it’s just accounting – not life or death!)
- An innovative, systems approach to tasks with an eye to improving & streamlining workflow
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree or higher
- QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop experience, or 5+ years of general bookkeeping experience
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification (basic) required
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Comfort with cloud-based technologies and document storage tools
- Interest in deepening your skill sets as needed to get the job done
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Extreme attention to detail
- Deep commitment to client confidentiality (NDA required)
