OVERVIEW
Blue Fox is looking for a bookkeeper who is experienced, kind, analytical, self-disciplined, extremely detail oriented, and tech savvy. The bookkeeper will work on accounting and payroll related tasks for a portfolio of up to 10 different client companies. To start, the tasks will mostly be accounting related with limited client customer service. But if interests and skills align there is opportunity for additional responsibility and client-facing tasks. The bookkeeper will be supported by a senior accountant on an ongoing basis.
TIME COMMITMENT
This is a full-time position, 30-40 hours/week. Negotiable, flexible schedule offered, though availability during general business hours may be required from time to time or expected based on business needs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a fully virtual/remote position. Our team and clients are distributed across the US. The bookkeeper must have high speed internet access, own computer and cell phone, a web camera, and a home office or other suitable workspace conducive to phone or video calls. The bookkeeper must be available daily to respond to emails and occasional phone calls.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The pay range for this position is $40,000-$45,000/year. Increased compensation may be offered based on experience and skills. A flexible, supportive schedule is a primary benefit offered to all our team members. Additional benefits are offered to full-time employees. Benefits include: an allowance for office equipment purchases; internet/cell phone allowance; paid federal holidays, sick leave, partially paid parental leave, and unlimited PTO (paid time off). 401k to launch mid-2022. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
To start:
- Daily/weekly data entry of expense and income transactions into QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Weekly accounts payable/bill pay processing, via Bill.com
- Payroll entry and processing through third party payroll processors
- Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and related closing activities
- Monthly financial report compilation (mainly in QBO and in Excel)
- Monthly journal entries/accruals
- Client service and support
- Create and document processes for each client served; suggest improvements for efficiency and accuracy
KEY PERSONALITY TRAITS FOR SUCCESS

- Deep love of data (numbers nerds only need apply)

- A keen ability to identify opportunities for automation and streamlining workflows
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- QuickBooks Online experience, or 4+ years of general bookkeeping experience
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification (basic) required; Advanced preferred
- Bill.com and/or Gusto certifications strongly preferred
- Strong Excel skills preferred
- Experience with Asana, Slack, Hive, or similar project workflow tools
- Comfort with cloud-based technologies and document storage tools
- Interest in deepening your skill sets as needed to get the job done
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Extreme attention to detail
- Deep commitment to client confidentiality (NDA required)
